TWO young women have been robbed of their car in a violent mugging at a southside Brisbane train station.

Police said the women, both 21, were returning to their white Kia hatchback at Coorparoo station about 9pm yesterday when they were approached by a man and a woman.

The woman demanded the keys to the car and when the owner refused, she was punched in the face.

She fell to the ground as her attackers grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the bitumen.

When the second woman went to her aid, she too was punched.

The couple then grabbed the car keys and drove off in the hatchback.

One of the victims was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a broken nose and other facial injuries.

Both of the offenders are described as indigenous and about 170cm tall.

The woman was wearing light blue jeans, a white singlet and had her long black hair tied in a ponytail.

The man wore a cap, jeans and a blue t-shirt.

Anyone with information about the pair or the stolen car is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
